About The Blog

I have been bitten by the blogging bug. Having spent a year (2014) exploring and writing about “all things wild and alive” on the land managed by the Box Moor Trust in Hemel Hempstead and Bovingdon, Hertfordshire, UK, I thought I’d expand my focus and loosen the structure.

This is a place where I can post natural history notes, photographs (good & bad!) and anything else of interest. It’s not meant to be a work of art or an exhaustive resource, just somewhere I can pop into to share snippets from my birding and observations of the natural world. Much of my time is spent in and around Hemel Hempstead but other sites, such as Tring reservoirs and Brandon Marsh & Draycote reservoir in Warwickshire, will likely feature. Hopefully, the blog will be somewhere that others can enjoy visiting when they have a spare moment or two and fancy…. a natural interlude. Ultimately, my hope is that something of the patience, beauty and freedom of nature will find its way through here and produce a tiny but potent oasis of calm in what might otherwise be frantic days.
